A multidimensional collision of art, sculpture, and community
Overview

The Year of the Phoenix was a year-long creative campaign exploring themes of fire, rebirth, and transformation. Built around the development of a large-scale metal and fire sculpture unveiled at Burning Man 2022, the project served as a unifying North Star for a range of cross-disciplinary activations across Southern California.

The initiative connected artists from the San Diego and Los Angeles Burning Man communities, as well as the region’s underground Hip-hop scene. It included live events, physical art builds, creative collaborations, and a music video—each shaped around the core symbol of the phoenix.
