Overview
Phoenix Syndrome was Arash Afshar’s first solo photography exhibition—an immersive, all-ages community experience held from June 26 through July 10, 2021, at Seaport Village in San Diego. Art directed by Dylan Eccleston, the gallery featured a decade-spanning collection of Arash’s work documenting identity, underground culture, and spiritual transformation.
The kickoff event on June 26 brought together over 300 guests for a full day of music, art, and storytelling. With hip-hop performances curated by Platform Collection, house and techno sets by DJs from Alkaline, and a gathering of San Diego’s creative communities, Phoenix Syndrome embodied more than just a showing—it was a living, breathing ritual of artistic rebirth.
