🎩 The Ides of March Society: Ethos January 15, 2025 10:56 AM
Core Philosophy: The Ides of March Society is not about one person’s vision or pedestal, but about all of us playfully “stabbing the patriarch” together — dismantling outdated, top-down, hierarchical systems through art, creativity, and intellectual rebellion.
Guiding Metaphor: The society is inspired by the story of Julius Caesar, but Caesar is the system, not a person. It’s the structures of power that need “stabbing,” not individuals.
Playful Rebellion: The society approaches this through wit, humor, and artistry. The act of “stabbing” is creative — a metaphor for deconstructing harmful systems and ideas while bringing people together.
Inclusivity as a Core Value:
The society isn’t about gatekeeping or exclusivity for its own sake.
Anyone who resonates with the values can be part of the conspiracy.
There’s no singular leader — it’s a movement. Everyone who participates shares equally in the creative rebellion.
A.Mirage (Arash) is the “inciting conspirator,” but it’s not about him being “the star.” Instead, it’s a collective movement of creatives.
🌀 The A. Mirage Persona
A. Mirage is both a persona and a movement.
It’s a playful nod to the illusion of identity and ego — a reminder that who we are is ever-shifting, fluid, and expansive.
The name itself is a riddle:
“A mirage” = a playful illusion.
The signature ‘A’ ties back to Arash’s real name, honoring your past while embracing a new creative identity.
We Are A. Mirage → a collective statement. It’s not about one person but all of us creating something together.
🎭 Identity and Pronouns:
Your approach to identity is fluid and expansive.
You’re inspired by RuPaul’s approach: “Call me he, call me she, call me whatever you want. Just call me.”
Rather than rejecting labels, you lean into them playfully — embracing the idea that all identities are valid and none of us is one fixed thing.
When asked for pronouns, you don’t want to come across as dismissive or indifferent to others’ struggles. Instead, you embrace fluidity, playfulness, and openness.Suggested response:
“Whatever pronoun feels right to you in the moment. I’m all of them.”
Or simply: “Call me he, she, they… I’m a mirage.”
💡 How This Ties to Your Work:
The Las Vegas Lookbook (LVLB):
LVLB is your first stab (pun intended) at this approach.
You’re intentionally deconstructing the idea of the ‘star photographer’ whose vision everyone else serves.
Instead, you’re building a collaborative team and documenting what emerges.
The process itself is the art. It’s about what happens when creatives come together to co-create, rather than one person’s vision.
Yesterday I Was Clever:
This project fits perfectly into this ethos.
It’s about exploring identity, transformation, and growth, while sharing your personal journey in a way that creates space for others to reflect on their own.
A. Mirage is a living embodiment of this idea:
Yesterday you were “Arash.”
Today you’re something more fluid and expansive.
Tomorrow? Who knows — and that’s the beauty of it.
📝 Practical Next Steps:
Finalize the Ides of March Society “manifesto.”
Keep it playful, mysterious, and inviting.
Focus on the collective values (rebellion, creativity, inclusivity).
Consider a short, poetic manifesto that captures the spirit of the society.
Set up the WeAreAMirage handle.
Use it across social media, website, and project branding.
Make it clear that this is a collective identity.
Example tagline: “We are a mirage — ever-shifting, ever-expanding, never one thing.”
Plan the Ides of March Society launch event.
March 15, 2025 (The Ides of March) is a perfect symbolic date.
Keep it mysterious, playful, and art-focused.
Could include rituals, performances, and creative “stabbings” of outdated ideas.
Create custom invites that feel exclusive but welcoming to those who “get it.”
Continue developing the A. Mirage persona.
Use it as a playful signature across your projects.
Lean into the mystery and illusion.
Example: Your website could have hidden pages or Easter eggs that reflect the mirage concept.
Incorporate the “We” language in all your projects.
Shift the narrative from “I” to “we.”
Make it clear that you’re creating spaces for collective creativity.
Use phrases like:
“We are all part of the conspiracy.”
“We are all A. Mirage.”
“This is not my vision. It’s ours.”
🖋 Example Manifesto Draft (Playful Version):
We are the Ides of March Society.
We come together to play, to rebel, to create.
We stab at the heart of the patriarchy — not with knives, but with art, wit, and joy.
We are conspirators. We are creators.
We are ever-shifting, ever-expanding, never one thing.
We are a mirage.
Tagline Ideas for A. Mirage / WeAreAMirage:
“We are a mirage — come play with us.”
“Ever-shifting. Ever-expanding. Never one thing.”
“A rebellion of art, wit, and wonder.”
“Call us whatever you want. We’re a mirage.”
Final Thoughts:
You’re not rejecting your history or identity — you’re building on it.
A. Mirage is both you and not you.
It’s an invitation for others to join in the rebellion, to embrace their own fluidity, and to create something bigger than any one person.
And in the end? We’re all a mirage. 😊
